Cyprus Tax Deadlines & Updates for 2026

The Cyprus Tax Department has announced important updates and deadline extensions affecting both individuals and businesses for the 2025 tax year and the transition into 2026.

These developments include changes in submission deadlines, new procedures, and the gradual transition to the Tax For All (TFA) system.

PAYE Return Deadline Extension (2025)

The deadline for submitting the Employer’s Annual Return of Income Tax and Contributions (PAYE) for the tax year 2025 has been extended:

👉 New deadline: 30 September 2026

The return will be available for submission through the Tax For All (TFA) system starting May 2026.


VAT & VIES Deadline Extension (Feb – Mar 2026)

Due to the Easter holidays, the Tax Department has extended the deadlines for:

  • VAT return and payment for the period ended 28 February 2026
  • Recapitulative Statement (VIES) for March 2026

👉 New deadline: 20 April 2026

⚠️ Penalties after the deadline:

  • €100 for late VAT submission
  • 10% additional tax on VAT due
  • €50 for late VIES submission

Income Tax Return (TF1) for 2025

The Income Tax Return for individuals without audited accounts (TD1) for the tax year 2025:

👉 Will be submitted through TAXISnet

The submission start date will be announced at a later stage.

Important notes:

  • Sufficient time will be provided for submission
  • No interest or penalties will be imposed within the official compliance period

Company Tax Registration via CY Login (from 1 July 2026)

From 1 July 2026, tax registration for legal entities in Cyprus will change significantly.

Entities affected include:

  • Companies (HE)
  • Foreign companies (AE)
  • Partnerships and cooperatives (S)

👉 Registration will be accepted only via CY Login when accessing the Tax For All (TFA) system

Applications not submitted through CY Login:
👉 Will be rejected


Transition to the Tax For All (TFA) System

Cyprus is moving towards a modernized tax system through Tax For All (TFA) as part of the tax reform.

  • Tax returns for 2026 onwards will be submitted via TFA
  • TAXISnet will still be used for certain filings (e.g. TD1 for 2025)
