Cyprus Tax Return Deadline Extended to September 30, 2025
Last updated on June 13, 2025
Updated Tax Filing Deadline for the 2024 Tax Year
The Cyprus Council of Ministers has officially approved a deadline extension for the submission of personal income tax returns and the payment of tax due for the 2024 tax year. This measure aims to ease the administrative burden on taxpayers and support timely compliance.
🗓 New Deadline: September 30, 2025
The new deadline has been set for Monday, September 30, 2025, at 23:59. This replaces the original deadline of July 31, 2025.
Who Does the Extension Apply To?
This extension applies to:
-
Individuals (not self-employed)
-
Self-employed persons who are not required to submit audited or reviewed financial statements
This means that thousands of taxpayers across Cyprus now have an additional two months to prepare and file their TD1 Personal Income Tax Returns and settle any tax liabilities.
Why Was the Extension Granted?
The primary goal is to provide taxpayers with more time to comply with their obligations in a smooth and stress-free manner, particularly during the busy summer period. This decision ensures better compliance and reduces the last-minute pressure often experienced during tax season.
Tax returns must be submitted electronically via the TaxisNet portal, along with any tax due, no later than 30 September 2025.
What You Should Do Now
Even though the deadline has been extended, it is strongly recommended to prepare your documents and submit your return well before the cut-off date to avoid system congestion and ensure peace of mind.
At Rightax, we assist individuals and self-employed professionals with:
