Turn Your Provisional Tax into a Smart Business Tool: December 2025 Revised Assessment + Final Planning Insights
Last updated on December 4, 2025
Back in July, we encouraged all Cyprus companies to turn their provisional tax into a smart business tool by preparing their 2025 provisional assessments early — and many of you used this process to gain mid-year budgeting insights.
Now, as we approach 31 December 2025, it’s time for the final step:
🌟 Review – Revise – Finalise Your 2025 Provisional Tax
All Cyprus companies must review whether their initial July provisional assessment still reflects reality.
If your company’s actual profitability for 2025 is higher or lower than your July estimate, you must decide whether to:
- Revise your provisional tax upwards (if income increased)
- Revise your provisional tax downwards (if income decreased)
- Or, if no taxable income is expected, avoid the need for payment altogether
A revised provisional assessment can be submitted online until 31 December 2025.
Why You Should Consider Revising Your Provisional Tax
The law imposes a 10% surcharge if the final tax (based on the audited financial statements) exceeds the July provisional estimate by more than 25%.
Revising now can help you:
-
Avoid the 10% surcharge
-
Smooth out your cashflow
-
Reduce surprises when your audit is completed
-
Lock in a more accurate tax position before year-end
